Yau (b. 1988, Hong Kong) currently lives and works in Hong Kong. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Visual Communication Design from School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2012. By observing oneself and collecting emotions and stories from his tattoo practice, he is absorbed with the lost and vanishing contents from different relationships and his surroundings, converting his response in drawing, moving image and installation. His work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in various art institutions, including “Let’s Try Catching Steam with Bare Hands” (Gallery Exit, Hong Kong, 2021), “The Dimensions of Living: A House is” (Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre, Hong Kong, 2020), “The Bacteriology Drawing Lab” (Hong Kong Museum of Medical Sciences, Hong Kong, 2019), “Everything’s Alright” (chi K11 art space, Hong Kong, 2016) and “Yesterday’s” (Osage Gallery, Hong Kong, 2013). His works have been collected by private collectors and galleries of Hong Kong.
