In the new year, SC Gallery is excited to announce that we will be presenting Hong Kong artist Chow Chun Fai’s latest research-based project, “Interview the Interviewer II,” curated for the Insight sector at Art Basel Hong Kong 2025.

After a year of research and preparation, the first “Interview the Interviewer” project was exhibited at SC Gallery in Hong Kong in 2023 and garnered widespread media attention and discussion. In this groundbreaking endeavor, Chow interviewed veteran Hong Kong journalist Sharon Cheung, famously remembered for her confrontation with Jiang Zemin, the former president of China, during a TV interview in 2000.

“Interview the Interviewer II” for Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 will build upon its predecessor. In this second part, Chow will delve deeper into the intricate relationships between memory, archives, and reality. He will highlight the importance of understanding the historical changes spurred by international geopolitics and economic globalization through the lens of Hong Kong’s history and present reality.

This project signifies a significant milestone in Chow’s artistic career, showcasing his growth and experimentation with new creative directions. We view Art Basel Hong Kong’s platform as an invaluable opportunity for the global art community to rediscover Chow’s innovative artistic advancements. This proposal is initiated by SC Gallery and  curated by independent curator Chris Wan Feng.
