Cheng Ting Ting
鄭婷婷

Cheng was born in 1990 in Hong Kong. She currently lives and works in Hong Kong. Cheng received her master’s degree in fine arts from the University of Bergen, Norway (2021), and a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from the Hong Kong Baptist University (2013). During her studies, Cheng studied and exchanged in Italy.
Cheng finds painting ineloquent as an art medium and is fascinated by this quality. Her works usually begin with obscurity and are followed by the interplay between strokes and materials, which gives shapes to the intangibles. Through the painting process that Cheng has faith in, she slowly unfolds daily elusiveness and absurdity.
She was the winner of the AVA Award and the Red Elation Award in 2013. Past exhibitions and projects include ‘Night Walk’, ‘Recipient Absent’, ‘Fall In Fall Out’, The Imaginary Order’ in Gallery Exit, ‘Very Natural Actions’ in Tai Kwun ‘The Pendulant Mass’ in Galerie OVO, ‘→’ in Blindspot Gallery and ‘Imagine there’s no country Above us only our cities’ in Para Site.
