Doris Chui Suet Wai (b.1997, Hong Kong) holds a B.A in Fine Art from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022. Her work examines the alienation of urban dwellers and their delicate emotions through surreal spatial scenes. Vibrant colours are used to explore themes of solitude and self-reflection, delving into the artist’s personal emotions and experiences. The intentionally weakened features and subtly twisted postures of her characters represent the loneliness and repression experienced by individuals in contemporary society.

Recent exhibitions include “Women’s Freestyle” (SC Gallery, 2023) and “Where Great Minds Shine” (CUHK 60th Anniversary Alumni Art Exhibition, Arts Pavilion West Kowloon Cultural District, 2023). Chui is the Finalist of The 2024 Sovereign Asian Art Prize and was awarded the Diana Li Award in Fine Arts and Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Creation Award from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022. She also received the Mr. Kevin Chan Fine Arts Scholarship from New Asia College, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022.
